How far from a driver/power supply can you place a 24V fixture? What is the max distance from the driver to the fixture? The most important thing here is to minimize voltage drop. How you you minimize voltage drop? When voltage drops more than 3%, LEDScape 24V LED products may exhibit strange behaviors such as flickering, dimming, and color shift. To ensure proper voltage is actually reaching the luminaire, it is recommended you run the shortest length of wire possible, and that you use the proper wire size. This chart can help you determine the correct wire size, when using this chart, always round up to the next highest wattage, and you can always use a larger gauge wire, but never a smaller one.
If you are having difficulty working within these parameters, there may still be a solution. Some LEDScape products are designed to utilize up to a 25V driver, and our LEDScape D3 driver can be configured to deliver up to 25V. Additionally, some of our products are available in 48volt configurations, allowing for longer run lengths and longer distance from power supply to luminaire.
