The Rail Light in an innovative lighting system for railyards that attaches  to the rail itself. Railight is a railway specific product, designed and built from the ground up for rail yards and the people that work in them.   Raillight enhances railyard safety by putting  light directly on the ground to make walking  in between  rail tracks safe for personnel.  Safety engineers, unions,  or anyone else concerned with  railroad or railyard safety is likely to have questions about  Rail Light.  One of the questions we get is: How is the  RailLight laid out?

One layout for spacing in between two tracks is to  install a 2 meter RailLight  connected to the next rail light with a 2 meter cable.    Configuration 1 below shows a common configuration, with RailLight  fixtures  attached to the tracks on either side of the walkway.

Configuration 2 shows another common configuration, staggering the fixtures and the  corresponding light output  along the walkway.  Which configuration is better?   That can depend on may  factors, including distance between the two tracks,  other available alight sources, power available at the location, and more.

These are two common configurations for laying out the RailLight, but  site factors such as the length to be lit, available power, and distance between the tracks are some of the factors to be considered.
